Sena Shiori Will Retire From Tokyo Joshi Pro This Month

Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling made a shocking announcement today. Sena Shiori is being forced into retirement due to a medical issue. The 4/24/21 event in Tokyo at Itabashi Green Hall will be the final event for the 19-year-old. No card has been released as of this writing but it will air on WRESTLE UNIVERSE as VOD a few days later.

Shiori is one of the company’s most promising new stars. She made her debut on 1/4/20 is in a tag team match with Mahiro Kiryu in a losing effort to Haruna Neko and Suzume. She and Marika Kobashi were successful in the opening match of this past Friday’s big TJPW “Still Incomplete” show at Korakuen Hall with a win over Moka Miyamoto and Arisu Endo. Shiori got the fall on Miyamoto with a modified half crab submission hold that seemed to get over. She nicknamed the hold Checkmate.

TJPW reported Shiori has been suffering from an undisclosed chronic illness even before her debut. Doctors have advised her to quit wrestling because of it.
