After some technical difficulties, NWA Empowerrr executive producer Mickie James came out to the ring to open the ppv. She said the whole thing was about inspiring little girls. She will face Kylie Rae on the NWA 73rd Anniversary show tomorrow.

She took out Blaze ant JennaCide as Terrell bailed out of the ring. As Kim yelled at the heels, Kong asked her to face her in the ring. Kong got on the mic and said she’s not much for words and it’s been a long year at her house. She said Gail Kim was the only person to get her off the couch to come back for anything. She said she loved Kim. Kim was crying and said she didn’t know what to say but she and Kong will always have a bound for life.

Madusa brought in the tag belts and congratulated them. King and Velvet looked like they were going to attack the new champions from behind but ended up congratulating them and showing respect.

NWA owner Billy Corgan politely walked near the broadcast table looking a member of the crew. He held “The Burke” under wraps in his hand which is the NWA Women’s Title last appearing in the NWA in 1954. He had  Kyle Davis (who is doing ring announcing for the title matches) read a statement from him to the crowd about the history of the title and Mildred Burke. The Burke was unwrapped and brought in the ring to show the crowd.

Tim Storm joined the announcers as guest color commentary. Nick Aldis, Thom Latimer, and Chris Adonis were watching in the Bush Beer VIP section of the crowd to cheer on Kamille.

NWA Worlds Women’s Champion Kamille pinned  Leyla Hirsch after a spear. This was a great showcase for both. Hirsch stood on the top of the ring post and gave Kamille a twisted suplex off the ropes. She then followed up and gave everything she had including several German Suplexes and a shining wizard. She locked in the arm bar a couple times but Kamille powered out. Hirsch kept coming at Kamille nonstop and finally got caught with the spear.

Kamille went over to the VIP area to celebrate with Latimer, Aldis, and Adonis and acted cool and relaxed about surviving Hirsch. Trevor Murdoch got close and started yelling at Aldis to hype their match tomorrow at NWA 73.

This was a great show. Everyone worked their tails off. It wasn’t just the best American women’s ppv of all time (there hasn’t been many), it was the best NWA ppv so far under Billy Corgan ownership. It didn’t drag and all of the matches were good to great.

Back in the ring, Kasey gave Jayne a powerbomb off the ropes on the top points of  two set up chairs in the ring. She later brought out lemons and a bag of thumbtacks from under the ring. Jayne slammed her in the tacks and squeezed lemon juice on her back. They exchanged German Suplex into the tacks. Mickey James officially announced Chelsea Green will be part of the all-women NWA Empowerrr pay-per-view on FITE on 8/28/21 from St. Louis and live on FITE. It confirms what we first reported on 7/28/21.

Renegade Wrestling Revolution has postponed their 8/27/21 “Too Hot To Handle” event in Texas City, Texas, not only because of Green pulling off the card for NWA Empowerrr,  but we were told today “a few other girls” who were booked are apparently also going to be at NWA Empowerrr. Those names weren’t given to us, but here was the scheduled women’s matches for  “Too Hot To Handle”:

Chelsea Green vs. Raychell Rose
DiamantΓ© vs. Rok-C
Jazmin Allure vs. Promise Braxton
Vipress vs. Leila Grey
Danni Bee vs. Mia Friday (originally planned as Danni Bee vs. Hollyhood Haley J)
Alejandra The Lion vs. Amber Rodriguez

As far as the rest of the NWA Empowerrr show goes so far, the winner of tonight’s Leyla Hirsch vs. The Bunny match on AEW Dynamite will receive a title shot at NWA Worlds Women’s Champion Kamille at the pay-per-view. Unless there’s an upset, Hirsch is likely to go over because The Bunny has been in the roles of valet and glorified talent enhancement. The long vacant NWA Women’s Tag Team Titles will be decided in a match yet to be announced. Impact Knockouts Champion Deonna Purazzo will defend that title against a yet to be named challenger. Jamie Senegal (with Pollo Del Mar) and Tootie Lynn have also been announced for the show. Kylie Rae and JennaCide are also expected to be on it based on the event poster.

There are some people who are not happy with Mickey James’ involvement in the NWA now. She immediately made herself the face and top star of the NWA Women’s Division and NWA Empowerrr in her company debut after being released by WWE this year. She is the producer of Empowerrr but she is not scheduled to wrestle on the show. However, she will be in action the next night at NWA’s 73rd Anniversary pay-per-view event on FITE also in St. Louis against a yet to be named opponent. The feeling is that she’s overshadowing the rest of the women on camera and behind the scenes like her husband NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis has the reputation of doing in the men’s division. The running joke among some is “NWA actually stands for Nick’s Wrestling Alliance” and James is another authority figure version of Stephanie McMahon. NWA announcer Joe Galli worked as play by play announcer for some indie shows last month and he name dropped Mickey James and NWA Empowerrr countless times during the women’s matches of those shows even though James was not even at them.

Alex Bliss’ Lilly Helping Out Chucky?

There is talk of the horror movie villain Chucky possibly popping up in some form on WWE Raw in the next couple of months to interact with Lilly, the demonic doll owned by Alex Bliss. The crossover appearance would be to promote the upcoming Chucky TV series. “Chucky” will be a SYFY channel show but the Season 1 premiere episode will air simulcast with sister network USA on 10/12/21 at 10pm EST.

Our sister website “Wrestling…. with Demons” was told that “Chucky” is finally scheduled to wrap up production next week. It’s being filmed in Toronto. Brad Dourif is once again the voice of Chucky. The show was delayed last year because of the virus pandemic. Commercials for the show have already been airing heavily during WWE Raw over the last few weeks as Syfy has high hopes for its success.

If Chucky does show up on Raw, it wouldn’t be the first time he’s done a crossover promotion in the world of pro wrestling. In 1998 he showed up on WCW Nitro to interrupt a Mean Gene Okerlund interview with Rick Steiner in the ring so he could plug “Bride of Chucky” released in theaters that year.

In other Lilly news, despite being panned by most pro wrestling critics, the character has been a hit for WWE Shop merchandise sales. The $30 plush replica of the doll sold out last month. It has been restocked as of this writing.

Lucas will get a title shot at Undisputed British Women’s Champion Gisele Shaw as the reward of the tournament victory.

On the 8/1/21 show in London at 229 The Venue, there was an in-ring ceremony for Lucas put on by Halfpenny, Jackson and May. Hyan came out to confront them and the segment set up a match between her and May.

(Shoko Nakajima vs. Miu Watanabe is the other semifinals match).

Itoh’s injury happened against Suzume on 7/31/21 in the quarterfinals of the tournament. She had a noticeable bloody laceration under her eye when the match was over.

The next match is Sheamus vs. Drew McIntyre. Jinder Mahal attacked McIntyre before the match like he’s been doing on these SuperShows.

Sayaka dumped AZM face first to the mat after a Code Breaker out of the corner then followed up with the Frog Splash but AZM kicked out.

Starlight Kid pinned Saki Kashima in a Red Block Match after her Black Tiger PilefDriver finisher for 2 points in 8:46. Kashima was down on the mat favoring her head in pain afterwards but Kid showed no sympathy. Kid gloated and lifted Kashima up ton put the black mask on her and then walked out of the ring to the back with the mask.

NatsuPoi pinned Momo Watanabe with a high speed style cradle in a Red Block Match for 2 points in 9:44. Watanabe battered NatsuPoi’s head with kicks. She hit the B Driver later on in the match but couldn’t follow up for the pin because of feeling the pains of an earlier submission attempt by NatsuPoi.

Tam Nakano pinned Konami with the Twilight Dream Suplex in a Blue Block Match for 2 points in 10:45. Konami back jumped her after the ring introduction and tossed her to the outside. She viciously attacked her arm by sandwiching it between a chair and ramming her arm first into the ring post. She then hit Nakano’s arm with another chair on top of it. She went back into the ring and sat in the middle hoping Nakano would get counted out. When that didn’t work, she tried to use the Triangle Lancer submission on her arm.

Utami Hayashishita pinned Saya Kamitani in a Blue Block Match after the BT Bomb for 2 points in 14:19. They shook hands and hugged afterwards. Kamitani managed to hit the Star Crusher but it wasn’t enough to keep Hayashishita down.

AZM is with the announcers as guest commentator.

Syuri pinned Maika in a Blue Block Match after her flamer driver finisher. Hard hitting match that saw them at one point get each other in a knuckle lock and repeatedly head butt each other in rapid fire motion to try to get the other to break the hold. Time of the fall was 16:38. Syuri cut a promo and said Maika has a bright future but she will not win the tournament this year because she is going to win it.

Mayu Iwatani pinned Giulia with a Dragon Suplex in 18:30!in a Red Block Match for 2 points. This was another match of the year candidate. Giulia gave Iwatani a dangerous looking Hangman’s Neckbreaker off the apron onto the floor. Iwatani made it back in the ring at the count of 19. Giulia hit her in the back of the head with a missile drop kick followed later by a release German Suplex. Iwatani recovered and delivered a crucifix driver. She went for the Moonsault but Giulia caught her in a submission hold. Iwatani managed to get out of it and blasted Giulia with a series of kicks and another Moonsault. Giulia fought back and got Iwatani with a Glorious Driver. She was going to try for another one but Iwatani reversed it and gave her a Tombstone Piledriver. Iwatani cut a passionate promo and said she will win this year. She won it back in 2018.
